lawn mower engine problems?
today when i was mowing my law, the lawn mower (a small gas powered, push mower) began to act up. i’m not exactly sure how to describe it, but the engine began to “slow down” (as if it was running out of gas) and then immediately “speed up” (like i was giving it some throttle, which is impossible). so i immediately stopped the mower to check the gas tank thinking it was going empty, but there was plenty of gas in there. so i started up again thinking maybe the fuel injector got a few air bubbles in it, but once it started, it began to make the same stop then go noise (sort of like accelerating a car, then braking, then giving it gas, then braking, then giving it gas, then braking), worsening as i continued to mow. i tried to search up the problem, but the closest i got was engine backfires, which i do not believe it is considering there was no popping or exploding sound. any help is appreciated!
oh yea and i did empty out the gas tank, couldnt find anything…
Trash and/or water in the fuel. Drain it, and start over. Also, if you have a vain type govener, check to make sure you don’t have grass clippings and debris around the linkage or under the cover to insure good air flow.
