Is it possible to install a throttle control on a snowblower that does not come with one?
From what I’ve seen on my snowblower, the throttle control is there to over ride the governor control. When the throttle is at maximum the governor will keep the engine operating at the proper speed for maximum power. When the throttle control is reduced, the governor is no longer in control and the engine speed is forced lower. This will reduce noise and fuel consumption.
There should be no reason you can not install the throttle control. Look closely at your throttle arrangement and linkages to determine what parts are required. Visit a small engine shop to get what you need and put it together.
